CUHK Summer Institute Experience
At CUHK SI, students will:
- Study alongside motivated peers from different countries
- Learn from distinguished CUHK faculty members
- Experience university life through residential hall living
- Participate in cultural activities, workshops, guided visits, and local interactions
Each student will take two credit‑bearing short courses, selected from a wide range of disciplines offered by eight faculties, including: Arts, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Science, and Social Science.
Each course carries one CUHK credit, and students may earn up to two credits for future undergraduate studies at CUHK (subject to programme regulations). Please find the course list of SI 2026 below:

Application & Sponsorship (50% Programme Fee)
Students who plan to apply to universities in 2027 (e.g. S5 / G11 / Year 12 / Senior 2 or equivalent) are welcome to apply.
In addition, Merit Awards, in the form of 50% reduction of the programme fee, are available to students with outstanding academic credentials. Students who are ranked among the top 10% of their cohorts at the same academic level and recommended by the school principal would be considered for the Merit Awards. Selected students will only need to cover 50% of the programme fee, as well as the full activity fee, visa fee, and accommodation fee.
Application Procedures for Merit Award Applicants
Students wishing to apply to CUHK Summer Institute with a Merit Award are required to complete the following steps:
- Complete and submit an online application by 10 April 2025.
- Indicate your preference in Section 5 – Merit Awards and Financial Assistance. Please select “Yes, I apply for the Merit Award only” and apply as a “Student of collaborative partnership schemes.” (Please refer to the picture below for reference.)
- Upload the required supporting documents, including
- A copy of your passport; and
- Your school examination reports for the most recent two terms (i.e. Final Term of 2024–2025 and First Term of 2025–2026).
- Invite your school principal to complete and submit the School Recommendation Form for you by 15 April 2026.
